One-Way Drop or Round Trip?
A one-way drop isn’t half the price of a round trip. People often expect it to be, so it’s worth explaining. The car still has to drive back, and it drives back empty. What you save is the driver allowance and the waiting time, not the return distance.
Sometimes we can pair your drop with a passenger going the other way. When that works, you pay less. It happens most often on the Pune to Mumbai and Pune to Shirdi routes. Ask us when you book.

How We Calculate Outstation Fares
Most billing arguments in this business come down to how kilometres are counted. Here’s how we do it, so there’s nothing to argue about later.
Kilometres
Round trips are counted garage to garage. That means from when the car leaves our base to when it gets back. This is standard practice and our rates reflect it. We bill on the odometer reading, and you can check the opening reading with the driver before you start.
Minimum Kilometres
Round trips have a minimum of 300 km per day, or the actual distance if it’s more.
A day means midnight to midnight, not 24 hours. So if you leave at 6 PM on Monday and get back at 10 AM on Wednesday, that’s three days, not two. People often get this wrong, so please check it against your plan before you book.
Driver Allowance
You pay a driver allowance for each night the car stays outside Pune. It covers the driver’s food and stay. We show it as a separate line on your quote so you can see exactly what it is.
Tolls, Permits and State Taxes
These are charged at actuals with receipts, unless your quote says otherwise.
If you’re going to Goa, Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh or Telangana, there’s a permit and border tax to pay. The amount depends on the state and the vehicle. We handle the paperwork; you pay what the state charges.
Night Driving
There’s a night charge if the car is running between 11 PM and 6 AM.

How to Choose an Outstation Cab Service in Pune
There are a lot of operators in Pune. The per-kilometre rate they quote doesn’t tell you much on its own. Two quotes that look 10% apart can end up 30% apart by the time you pay.
Here’s what to ask any operator before booking. Ask us the same things.
How do you count kilometres?
Garage to garage, or point to point? An operator quoting a lower rate point-to-point can still bill you more. This one question explains most of the gap between the estimate and the final bill.
What's not included?
Driver allowance, tolls, parking, permits, state tax, night charges. These are normally extra. Ask for them itemised in the quote. A quote that doesn’t mention any of them isn’t cheaper, it’s just less complete.
Is the vehicle commercially registered?
A private car used for hire isn’t covered by its insurance for that. If something happens, that’s your problem, not the operator’s. Check for commercial registration, a valid permit and a current fitness certificate.
Is the driver yours or brokered?
Operators who pass the job to whoever is free can’t tell you anything about the driver or the car. On a five-hour ghat drive that matters a lot more than the rate does.
How many reviews, not just what rating?
Five stars from twelve reviews means less than 4.9 from several hundred. Volume over years is harder to fake.
Will you put the fare in writing?
A rate quoted on the phone isn’t a quote. Get a written confirmation with the vehicle, itinerary, what’s included and the total.
What if the car breaks down?
Every operator has breakdowns. The question is whether they have a replacement policy and enough cars to honour it, or whether you’ll be finding your own way home from Satara.

We charge per kilometre by vehicle type. On top of that come the minimum kilometre policy, driver allowance and night charge explained above. Tolls, parking and permits are at actuals.
The rates below are our standard published rates. Your actual trip fare is confirmed in writing before you travel, and it doesn’t change afterwards.

Going more than about 250 km? Book an Innova, whatever your group size. The fare difference over a sedan is small. The difference in how you feel after five hours isn’t. On ghat roads to Mahabaleshwar, Matheran or Bhimashankar, it matters even more.
Eight or more people? A Tempo Traveller costs less per head than two cars, and everyone stays together. On a pilgrimage circuit with several stops, that’s worth more than the money you save.
Before You Book
- Book early for long weekends. Cars for Mahabaleshwar, Lonavala and Goa go first around public holidays. Two weeks ahead isn’t too early.
- Tell us the whole itinerary. A quote based on half the plan will change when we hear the rest. Give us every stop and the fare will hold.
- Think about the season. Monsoon makes Mahabaleshwar and Matheran beautiful and the roads slow. October to March is easiest for most routes.
- Have a deadline? Tell us. Flight, train, wedding, meeting. Give us the time you must arrive by and we’ll work the departure backwards from it.
- Long routes need a rest plan. Goa and Malvan are nine to ten hours. We’ll suggest either a proper rest halt or a second driver before you have to ask.

Sometimes it means a private car with no commercial insurance, or a driver booked for the day. Compare the total you'll actually pay, itemised, not the per-km number. If our quote is higher than someone else's, ask us what it includes that theirs doesn't. We'll tell you.
